What kinds of apps are in the marketplace?

How fast can we get started?

Installing takes a few minutes. After that, you set the app up the way you want over the following days.

Do we need an IT team?

No. Clouve runs the hosting and routine maintenance. On AI editions, the AI Assistant handles upgrades, backups and fixes when you ask.

Do we pay per user?

No. You pay per app or kit, by capacity tier. Adding users doesn’t change the price.

Can we move to a bigger tier later?

Yes. On a paid plan, you can move to a larger tier as you grow.

Can we use our own domain?

Yes, on paid plans, and Clouve issues the certificate. During the free trial, apps run on a Clouve web address.

What happens if we cancel?

Your data stays yours. There’s no self-service export tool, so on request we prepare an export for your app and help you move.

Who helps when something breaks?

Support is included in every plan. Open a ticket from the help desk in your dashboard and the Clouve team picks it up. On AI editions, the AI Assistant can also look into a problem as soon as you ask.

Can you help us move our data in?

Yes. We help with exports and restores, and we’ve moved a full Moodle and Gibbon setup, with upgrades, for one institution. Tell us which app you’re coming from.

How long does it take to publish an app?

Going from first login to a published app typically takes a few hours for a simple single-container app, and a day or two for a multi-container bundle. The Clouve team reviews every listing; if it needs changes, the feedback appears on the listing.

Can I publish a bundle of apps?

Yes. A bundle deploys several apps together, the way the Education Kit does.

Do I control the price?

Yes. You set one number: what you earn per subscriber each month. Clouve adds the hosting cost for each tier, plus the AI Assistant fee if you turn it on.

How do I get paid?

Payouts are made through PayPal. Your developer dashboard shows your active subscriptions and monthly revenue.

Who supports the customer, me or Clouve?

Both. Clouve handles the platform, installs and billing. Questions about how your app works come to you.

Can I keep a listing private?

Yes. A listing can be public, visible only to members of your organization, or visible only to you.

Trust and security

Do you guarantee 99.999% uptime?

No. Uptime has been 99% over the past several years, and downtime is typically resolved within an hour. Monitoring runs 24/7 and the team responds to alerts.

Are backups included?

Paid plans include scheduled backups: daily, weekly or monthly, plus a backup whenever you ask. Free trials don’t include backups. The recovery targets are an RPO of 12 hours and an RTO of 2 hours.

Where is our data stored?

On Google Cloud in the US, in the us-central1 region in Iowa. Other regions are available on request.

Is Clouve SOC 2, FERPA or HIPAA certified?

No. Clouve doesn’t hold a certification such as SOC 2, FERPA, HIPAA, ISO 27001 or GDPR. Each deployment runs in its own isolated environment, connections use SSL, and paid plans include scheduled backups. We share security details with reviewers on request.

Can our IT team review the technical details?

Yes. Email us and we’ll share the security and infrastructure details, including the recovery targets.

For partners

Do you work with consultants and agencies?

Yes. Firms can refer clients to Clouve, or run the apps for their clients and bill for that work. See the partner program.

Who pays for the client’s apps?

The client signs up and pays Clouve directly. The partner bills its own setup, training and administration.

What do partners get?

A choice of a referral fee or free services, with terms agreed per partner. Every partner also gets hands-on help setting up and moving its first clients.
